Fighting so hard poem!

My body if tired, I have fought so long, how to prepare what you are unsure,of the future steps I now have to take, I will be strong, happy and give it all it takes, life unfortunately hasn't been for me, but I do have amazing friends and family, so to rap up this poem I will say, I love you all each and every day 🧡

Me and mum got to the norfolk and norwich university hospital and we went to the ward AMUK (Acute Medical Unit (K)) which is a mens ward. even though it was a mens ward it had a clinic on there in the day for emergancy gp referrals which is where I was sent by my doctor who I saw earlier. I got there and gave my name at reception and they told me to have a seat in the waiting room. I then realised that I had been here before when I got told I had pneumonia.  I was then saying to mum how bored I was and mum was saying how she hope were not up here too long as she had to take one of my younger cousins to kingslynn hospital for a important checkup. I was called in and seen by a Male nurse who toke some blood from my arm. I was very scared of needles so I got mum to hold my hand. 1st time losing my hair: 2018:

Before I was diagnosed I never used to care what my hair looked like, I used to put it up in a pony tail or in a messy bun and leave it like it, sometimes I left it greasy for days, sometimes it used to get that's knotted and tangled that it would take me ages (hours) getting the knots out and some of that time I used to yank them out and didnt care on what the outcome. I used to wash my hair with shampoo only never conditioned it either. My hair used to be ever so long as I used to go like 5 years without going to a hair dressers. I never used to do nice things with my hair like put it in curls or even just wear it down unless it was a special occasion like a party or wedding where I might only straighten it but as soon as I was home it used to go straight up in my pony tail again. When I was diagnosed with my leukaemia I asked the question is my hair going to fall out I was told " 2 weeks after my first lot of chemo I would definitely lose my hair, eye lashes, eye brows, etc...

Facing my FEARS and PHOBIAS I never KNEW I had:-

When I was first diagnosed and before I was diagnosed, I was extremly scared of needles, injections, tablets (swallowing then and them getting stuck in my throat), any medical procedures and biopsys and ops, NJ tubes, etc.  If I knew I had to have a needle or have to take any medication or have any procedures or ops,etc. Done I would worry about it and frett about it. I would also be very anxious every time I knew that they would be happening, as soon as I would be told all the emotions/feelings would come at me. When I got diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia I knew that things like my fears and phobias i would be facing a hell of a lot and i had only one choice and that was to face everything chucked at me. I knew that it was not going to be easy, but i knew facing my fears and phobias is what I had to do whether i liked it or not. 11th April 2020 i will have been fighting acute myeloid leukaemia for 2 years exactly to the day !!!
